Episode #43 of STODID

In this episode of STODID I'm joined by Johannes Ernst, Chris Messina and Drummond Reed and the topic of discussion is the OpenID user experience.

As Johannes writes on his blog, some of the reasons why this is an important and relevant topic are -

If we get the OpenID user experience right:

• OpenID adoption will be easier and faster.
• Attackers will have a much more difficult time being successful than they are today.
• Users will have more control. OpenID is user-centric identity, of course, but that isn't very useful unless many/most OpenID users know how to effectively use the level of control that the technology allows them to have.
• Privacy will be increased and better managed by each individual.

If we get it wrong:

• OpenID will be too hard to use.
• Attackers will have an easier time, not a harder time.
• Privacy will be reduced, not increased.

And Drummond writes:
